本研究では、fMRI を用いて、内部感覚に根差した感情表現（例：「胸が張り裂ける」）が、身体に特定されない一般的な感情ラベルとはどのように神経処理が異なるのかを検討いたしました。
その結果、内部感覚を伴う言語表現が、対応する身体感覚の中枢表現を活性化させ、それにより当該の身体状態のシミュレーションや自律神経的調節を引き起こす可能性があることが示唆されました。
これらの知見は、身体感覚によって形づくられた言語が、その感覚の概念化のあり方を相互的に形成しうる神経メカニズムを示唆しています。
本研究は、2025 年 9 月 15 日から 20 日にかけてポルトガル・ポルトで開催されました第 15 回 International Conference on Cognitive Neuroscienceにおいて、国際文化研究科のKim Hyoungsun(Sunny)がポスター発表を行い、540 件の発表の中から優秀ポスター賞 3 件のひとつとしてHonorable Mentionを受賞いたしました。(鄭)
