Emergency Response

【fMRI Training Program for Experimental Management Support Skills】
【fMRI Training Program for Experimental Safety Supervisors】

Understanding the various emergency responses will ensure safe use when conducting MRI experiments.

Emergency Response Principles
(1) Prioritize Human Life

If any abnormalities are suspected, immediately stop imaging and check the participant's condition. If necessary, take prompt action, contact the emergency rescue center, and rescue the participant (taking them out of the MRI machine).

(2) Understanding the MRI Equipment's Specificity (Strong Magnetic Field, even During Power Outages)
The MRI scanning room is a high magnetic field environment, even during power outages. In an emergency, remain calm and respond based on safety information regarding the magnet's safety (refer to safety training videos).

(3) Collaboration with the Aging Research Institute Office (Security Guard When Office is Closed)
Once the fire department or emergency team (and possibly police) is called, immediately share information.
Afterward, inform the head of the Brain MRI Center and committee members about the situation.
