202509.04 Exploring with fMRI: How Personality Traits and Optimism Alter Pain Responses (Oral Presentation · Awarded) Posted in Presentation

To better capture individual differences in pain sensitivity, we combined psychological assessments with brain imaging and examined responses to experimentally induced pain. A unique feature of this study is the integration of behavioral experiments and fMRI analyses, allowing us to explore how psychological factors correspond to neural mechanisms.

On September 4, Chang Xiaoqian, student of Graduate School of Medicine participated in the “CogNAC × CBE Workshop (28th CBE Research Meeting),” co-hosted by Tohoku University’s Center for Applied Cognitive Neuroscience (CogNAC) and the IEICE Technical Committee on Communication Behavior Engineering (CBE). She delivered a presentation in the Young Researchers’ session, and She was honored to receive the Young Presentation Award for her talk.

The workshop brought together a wide range of research in psychology, neuroscience, and sociology related to communication behavior, fostering lively discussions. She received many insightful comments from researchers in different fields, which will greatly contribute to improving and developing her research.(Sugiura)
