202603.02 The Boundary of Future Talent Education: The Gap Between Academia and the Field Posted in Event

In talent development and educational settings, many educators and researchers likely feel a sense of dissonance—that "practices yielding tangible results" and "research-based insights" don't always align.
How well can methods believed to be effective in the field be explained and verified academically? Conversely, how closely do theories and metrics demonstrated in research align with the realities of practice? This session explores the boundaries between three distinct fields—educational psychology, neuroscience, and business—and the potential points of convergence beyond them. It starts with the fundamental questions: "What does it mean to develop people?" and "How should we measure educational outcomes?"
