Checking parameters

Preprocessing of fMRI data
Check fMRI parameters for analyses!
  • TR (Repetition Time): the interval time between succesive pulse, a repeating scanning time for a whole brain
  • Number of Slice: the image number for a whole brain
  • voxel size: the unit size of scanning
  • Slice order: the order of scanning (ascending: starting from bottom, descending: starting from top, or entering slice numbers)
  • Slice gap: how many slices are interleaved

The following parameters may not be used in analyses, but should be described in a paper
  • TE (Echo Time): the time interval between radiofrequency excitation pulse and the peak of signal induced
  • flip angle: the rotation angle at which the magnetic field is applied to the protons
  • FOV (Field of View): the size of the slice image

In the sample data,
  • TR:2500ms
  • Number of Slice: 40
  • voxel size: 3 * 3 * 3 (mm)
  • Slice order: 1:40(ascending, described as 'FH' in the console)
  • Slice gap: 0
  • TE: 30ms
  • flip angle: 85
  • FOV: 192mm
