Output Control Device (Response Unit)
The output control device converts the results of pressing the response pad buttons into numerical signals that are inputted to the PC.

The numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 correspond to the buttons pressed on the response pad. (Button 5 is used for detecting MRI pulse triggers.)

 

Setup
(1)When using the stimulus presentation PC in the operation room:
Press the button on the switcher device labeled [1].

(2)When using a personal PC:
Connect the USB cable.
Press the button on the switcher device labeled [2].

Before Starting the Imaging

Check if the participant presses the correct button by confirming input in a "Notepad" on the PC.
Example instruction:
“Please press the four buttons in sequence, starting with the index finger on the right-hand pad.”

If the intended button is not pressed, recheck if the participant is holding the correct pad, and confirm that the right and left pads are not switched.

During Imaging

You can check if the button has been pressed by the blinking of the response unit's lamp (the lower row for the right-hand pad).

Response Pad troubleshooting
Sometimes, pressing a button may result in a string of alphanumeric characters being returned.

Reconfigure
  1. Push the KNOB
  2. Select “YES” by turning and pushing the KNOB
  3. Select “AUTOCONFIGURE,Push the KNOB
  4. Select “HHSC-2x4-C
  5. Select “USB
  6. Select “HID KEY 12345




 If not resolved…

Restart
Unplug and plug in the power (DC cable).
